Learning is not compulsory... neither is survival.

Education is a key part of breaking the cycle of interpersonal violence. Safe Avenues strives to educate the community about abuse so that individuals may become empowered to impact the lives around them. Survivors of abuse may be hesitant to seek help from local organizations such as Safe Avenues. This means that the people close to and around them have a big responsibility to respond to the crisis at hand. Being educated about abuse helps individuals and organizations understand and to respond to situations of violence safely and effectively as well as prevent the likelihood of instances of abuse in the future.
If you want to learn more about domestic violence, sexual assault, or other interpersonal violence and what you can do to help educate the public, contact our Safe Avenues Community Education Coordinator at (320) 235-0962. Speakers are available to give presentations to large or small groups
