Safe Avenues Announces New Locations in Chippewa, Lac qui Parle and Yellow Medicine Counties
Willmar, MN (October 5, 2017) – Safe Avenues, an advocacy agency, announced today that they are opening new offices in Montevideo, Madison and Granite Falls, to serve the needs of victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Safe Avenues currently operates in five counties in Southwestern Minnesota. Current office locations include: Willmar, Benson, Olivia, Litchfield, and Hutchinson. The three additional locations will bring that total to eight counties. The new offices will allow Safe Avenues to provide advocacy services to Chippewa, Lac qui Parle and Yellow Medicine counties.
The Montevideo office will be opening on October 9th, 2017. The office in Madison is currently being remodeled and will open in early December. Safe Avenues is currently engaged in negotiations for a location in Granite Falls, and anticipates opening a space by November 2017. The Montevideo office will temporarily house Safe Avenues’ staff until the other office locations are open.
Safe Avenues provides advocacy, parenting time services and emergency shelter to victims of domestic and sexual violence. Our staff assists clients in obtaining protection orders, developing safety plans, assistance through the court process, providing emotional support during evidentiary exams, reporting to law enforcement, accompaniment to appointments and assistance with basic needs.
